Just finished a presentation on Tove Jansson. Of course I ran out of time– I have come to adore the Moomins, and appreciate deeply the person of Tove Jansson and the time in which she wrote and drew– and so it seems I could talk for hours about it all. The outlook on life Jansson presents in these lovely little adventure stories are compassionate, honest, humanistic, sane and healthy… and full of truths disguised as strange forest creatures.
Please find below my PowerPoint on Jansson and her Moomins. If you’re interested, it’s worth tracking down these volumes in your public library system. And I encourage you to take the Moomin personality quiz (found on Slide 4) once you do a little reading!
